Writing a job application Email

Some of you might know and some might not know, well i work in HR and i also do Recruitment. Most of the things that i am writing about are what i come across everyday. Recruiters do not have much time to go through an email, we go straight to attachments and screen through the CV, we only see the email when we have to reply to your application.

We have realised that most applicants do not focus on their email while applying. They make mistakes that could be avoided. I take an email as we meeting for the first time and we have to impress each other. Application Emails should always be formal.

Some useful Pointers are:

1. Subject line - Always quote the right job title advertised and reference

2. Dear Recruitment or Good day so and so if the name is given

3. Body - Explain your reason for the email, always keep it short

4. Conclusion - Closing words like, looking forward to your positive response

5. Kind Regards,

6. Your Details - You may chose to write your name only or even your number

7. Do not forget to attach your CV and qualifications.

Always attach your CV separately from your qualifications.

Do not forward an email you have sent to another recruiter previously without removing all the forward messages and editing the body message.

Also do not send one email and copy other recruiters it looks unprofessional

Lastly do not send a blank email its rude.

Hope you find all this useful and will apply them when you send your next application.
