Keeping Relevant to the market

In the world we live in today, it is no longer good enough to just think that completing our degrees or diplomas will keep us going and lead to us getting a work opportunity. There are a lot of possibilities and ways to keep ourselves active while looking for employment and also to stay competitive. Here are some ideas of what will help you stay relevant in your industry.

1. Take online modules and short courses

This helps you stay relevant and keep you in the know of new trends in your industry. It is advisable to take modules related to or can supplement what your work requires and what will benefit you in your role.

2. Conduct research and network

Researching can be formal or informal, this is simply looking at the same role in different industries and companies to see what is changing and what competitors are doing with the role. This will help you know what they are looking for when hiring employees. It is also helpful to engage with people in the same role but in different sectors. It is important to attend conferences, local events, and training to start building a network. Always update your social media platforms too, where there a plenty of platforms that are dedicated to getting you in front of both colleagues and experts.

To stay relevant and engaged we need to make sure we are getting the right information about needs, wants, and expectations from our targeted companies or industry.
